The second of ROSSETTI’s Multi-Purpose Arena blog series offering design guidelines to help universities create value through right-sized, affordable facilities.
Multi-purpose arenas are nimble. They become homes for programs that are often neglected, such as volleyball, wrestling, and gymnastics. A high degree of flexibility will allow a multi-purpose arena to book the maximum number of days each year across every type of event from campus sports, education and entertainment, to community, and private or corporate uses. The optimum design begins with your goals. As the program is developed and honed, the design will focus on solutions for an intimate and vibrant bowl experience for any type of event layered with customized amenities and services.
Our first blog discussed the need for efficiency and fast delivery. Amenities and services are also critical to the success of the arena. By developing a deep understanding of your student and alumni preferences, combined with data of the surrounding market, we generate value-oriented design decisions that establish the right mix of premium segmentation.
Creating a holistic support ecosystem is necessary to recruit and maintain top talent. Amenities and services need not be budget-busters. Recruits and their families are attracted to elevated human performance amenities, expression of university culture and a hospitality-focused atmosphere.
