The Florida Panthers have proudly reopened the revitalized War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, transforming the historic venue into a vibrant hub for concerts, private events, and more.
With an adaptive reuse renovation design led by ROSSETTI, the updated entertainment space serves as a ceremonial front door to the multi-use complex, which includes the Baptist Health IcePlex. Spanning 44,000 square feet, the auditorium features a 3,500-capacity general admission floor, complemented by a premium seated mezzanine level. Equipped with modern amenities, state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, spacious artist dressing rooms, multiple bars, and VIP seating options, the War Memorial Auditorium has become Fort Lauderdale’s premier destination for live music and events across diverse genres.
“With the revitalization of War Memorial Auditorium, we’re thrilled to introduce a dynamic, multi-use entertainment district that combines a live performance venue, two ice rinks, a retail store, and a full-service restaurant and bar—all located in Holiday Park, the largest park in Fort Lauderdale,” said Panthers President & CEO Matt Caldwell.
The Florida Panthers also honored the venue’s rich history as part of the renovation by preserving and restoring several veteran memorials, including the merchant marine monument, the red flags along the exterior walkway representing soldier art, and plaques commemorating military veterans. The entire complex embodies a conceptual village that represents the project’s core principles: Commemoration, Community, Performance, and Partnership. These zones interconnect, fostering synergy and engagement while maintaining active connections to the surrounding context of Holiday Park and Broward County.
