International Sports Venue Design

While our office is located in Detroit, our sports experience spans the globe. With the knowledge needed to create a functional venue for any sport, engaging new projects outside of the United States provides some new yet fun challenges we embrace. Developing concepts for world-class sporting events, such as the Olympics or FIFA World Cup, allows us to break down barriers and take risks in design. We relish the chance to push the boundaries of what is possible to create spaces that enhance both the athlete and spectator experience. We've had the opportunity to work on groundbreaking concepts that blend cutting-edge technology with architectural ingenuity, ensuring that every venue serves as an iconic landmark within its region.

Our international concepts envision spaces that meet the rigorous standards required for elite competition while also considering the long-term legacy of the structures. As strategic designers, we think beyond the single event and explore how the venues can transform to serve the local community, whether as recreational spaces, commercial developments, or mixed-use facilities. Not only does this maximize a return on investment, but aligns with the growing emphasis on sustainability and responsible development in host cities. Additionally, this allows us to spend time understanding the local cultural context to create a venue made for the location. Whatever the sport, our work consistently strives to set new benchmarks in by blending functionality with a strong sense of place and identity.

As the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris came to a close, we look forward to welcoming the Olympics to Los Angeles in 2028. Most exciting for us is knowing a ROSSETTI-designed venue will host many events: Dignity Health Sports Park. Completed in 2003, the multi-use sports facility has stood the test of time. Its centerpiece is the dedicated soccer stadium, home of the LA Galaxy MLS team. The complex also includes a tennis stadium, velodrome, outdoor track and field facility and training facilities. While located in the United States, its prestige is known globally and we are eager to see it be the center of international attention.
